I love the pieces about this essay because it is so very genuinely true of our South Carolina roots. You are the perfecto woman to be chosen with this honor. The fact that you realize everything is different and will continue to be different speaks volumes. You alone, as EDG, have most definitely broken the mold of "what the heck is a middle child anyway?" Your parents raised three, very different children with distinct personalities of their own. The is no first, middle and last child in Becky and John Grantland's family. Ask Poppy. He'll tell you ,my precious, beloved Doodle Bug.
